Wandering HD channels on TWC QAM
On my set at least, QAM 0-505 (WDJT HD) and 0-512 (WISN DT) have moved to 109-5 (WDJT) and 109-12 (WISN). This happened sometime yesterday.
Something like this happened a couple of weeks ago, when 0-505 showed up as 58-1 for a day or so, then went back. I assume there's something in the QAM signal that allows a channel to remap it's frequency-based channel to something else? Or maybe a QAM channel always dictates it's displayed channel? Anyway, looks like that's changed for WDJT and WISN. |

Both cable cards and generic QAM tuners should point to their cable channel display numbers... WDJT- 505, WISN- 512 etc.

I know that's how it's supposed to work. My Panasonic 42PD50U with integrated NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuners isn't handling it very well, though. I've never had WTMJ come through as 0-504 nor WMLW come through as 0-507, and now 0-505 and 0-512 are gone too. I can get them, but under 103, 109-41, 109-5, and 109-12 respectively.
Judging by the fact that no one else seems to be seeing this, I think the problem is probably on the Panny end. This particular tuner seems flakier than others. Overall it works, but it has issues. I'll see what Panasonic service has to say about it. |

It's know and posted that TWC QAM channels run from C81.1
thru C124.20....... If you have a Digital QAM tuner & a TW Cable running from the wall, you should be able to 'check out' the unscrambled QAM SD/HD channels with a QAM Std channel scan... There is no TV cable Pgm guide using QAM channel numbers, except a 'Favorites' might help in the matter.
