The Weather Channel HD

hey everyone,

Has anyone else noticed the side bar that the weather channel hd has. No offense to the weather channel but i thought the weather channel hd would mean 16:9 well its not cause of the side bar.... I like the weather channel and would prefer no side bar... does anyone else agree..

I didn't know people actually watch The Weather Channel. I think it's one of the most useless channels out there. I did noticed what you saw though.

On that same note, have you guys seen the Fox 6 commercial claiming to be the only Station with Weather in HD? Am I missing something, isn't WTMJ Weather in HD also?

actually wtmj has HD viper radar but everything else is in 16:9 sd

WTMJ uses weather software from Baron Services that displays things in HD, so like khafferkamp said, VIPIR is in HD along with the local radar. They need to upgrade their own graphics set to HD though.

Back on topic though, I would rather see The Weather Channel HD have a ticker at the bottom and keep the original video in 16:9. Isn't that what they do (or did) on the SD channel? I rarely watch it though because the Internet is a better and faster source for weather information IMO. I think the Weather Channel has gone downhill since NBC bought them. It's not as bad as MTV or VH1 moving away from music related shows, but it seems like it's heading in that same direction away from its origin.... like how they started playing movies on Friday nights.
