American has a $50 Blu-ray player. Sure, it's only profile 1.1, but it's $50:

Well, I hope I'm not the only one from this forum that was able to take advantage of this deal.

Word is that they were supposed to be priced this low as a tie-in with an HDTV purchase, but American is honoring all sales that were confirmed with an email.

It'll probably be a while before we see this pricing again.

I saw this last night at Avsforum, but decided to pass on it after reading a few reviews. I need a better player than this for my projector.

I'm hearing we'll be seeing Blu-ray players for $49 on Black Friday this year. Obviously they won't be anything great quality-wise, but pretty much everyone will have them under $100 this year.
