RoadRunner question

I recently dumped TW Cable for DIRECTV. I intend on keeping RR though. I also intend on using my cell phone instead of a land line. I had the All IOn One Package w/TWC. My question: Do I need a land line if I continue with RR?

I just did the same think, keeping RR through TWC, direcTV coming next week. I haven't had a land line in 6 years.

I have RR and I dropped my digital phone last month.

I don't know why I paid for a land-line for all these years while I had a cell.
