Problem receiving Fox6 with OTA antenna

I picked up a winegard hd9095, I am in Watertown, Wi, and am between Madison and Milwaukee. Looking to pick up the Milwaukee locals as DISH HD service does not pass those aglong yet. Even though there is a channel in Milwaukee in the violet section on antennaweb.org it comes in great but another one, in violet, which is my fox channel and was hoping to have a packer party on saturday has been anywhere from eighties signal strength to crapping out alot since I put it up last sunday.

Right now it has been out most of today and is making noise going in and out. I am going bonkers with this situation. Ive invested too much money with the antenna and being installed. :bang:

Why not point toward Madison?

How much of a problem would a tree right next door in the line of sight towards Madison from my house cause?

Also, how much of a problem of receiving is Fox 47? The reason I ask is that I can pick up the other Madison channels now sometimes except this one. I need it to not be ANY kind of reception problem that you are aware of if I am going to consider this change.

If you are out that far and relying on an antenna then you should really consider a rotor. Your reception will be marginal at best pointed towards either Milwaukee or Madison, throw bad weather conditions in and you may not be able to pull in one station or the other. A rotor would allow you to easily switch which station you want to view.

Keep in mind, just because a map shows that you should receive a signal, it does not mean you will. You may be behind a ridge/hill/building that blocks the signal, or nearby ridge/hill/building may be causing a reflection that results in interference. Consequently, nobody here will be able to tell you with any certainty if you will be able to pull in either station. The only thing you can do is try it. If you are unable to pull in a channel you want, your options are to get a taller mast, get a larger antenna, get an amplifier, or find a different source (ie basic cable for locals).
