Has anyone else noticed this? For the past couple of weeks, the picture freezes and the audio is silent for a few seconds. It happens a couple of times an hour.
This doesn't seem to be a reception dropout: The signal and SNR meters are both fine, and I don't get an audible pop from the digital audio output. It's happening on two different OTA tuners, so that doesn't seem to be the problem either.

Except I get is on D* channel 6 (HD feed). I notice it most during the Wake-up news from 5-9. It happens at least once every 15-20 minutes and lasts anywhere from 10-15 seconds.
First the audio drops out, then the screen freezes. Then I get a blue screen of death (actually more like a coma), and then the whole thing comes back on and is fine.
It makes sense that this is a 6.1 OTA signal problem since it also happens on D* 6 HD channel. I bet this doesn't happen on the analog 6 feed.
I was going to post this as a question here but you beat me to it. I am glad it is not my equipment.

Yes I also do experience this problem on 6.1OTA. Also had drop out during the Packer game yesterday.

Uh..Packer game was on 58-1 yesterday. Speaking of 58-1, I noticed a freeze in the action shortly before the half on both of my sets. Still had good signal strength during the freeze. Must have been real cold up in Green Bay.

I started noticing this on Thanksgiving Day during ther pre-game show. It didn't matter if I tuned in OTA or via D*.
We don't watch much on Fox but last week during House it also happened. We now watch channel 88 for Fox5 out of NYC. No problems with that channel so it must be at Fox6 here.

Same issue here. Checked signal quality with spectrum analyzer and it was perfect. Still freezing. Not a signal issue something with fox 6. Have not noticed it lately though.

The problem is especially evident during tonight's 9:00 PM newscast, so it has not been fixed.

Are people still get freezes ?
The picture would froze for few seconds or more while the audio continues.

Never minded, it seems to be either a software or hardware issue with with my HDHomeRun. 6-1 seems to be the only channel causing the problem.

I am still getting the freezes.
I sent an email to Channel 6 last week. I got a short reply asking for more details, which I provided, and also supplied a link to this thread.
I haven't heard anything since then,, although I did send another email asking for an update.
If anyone else is also noticing this problem, I'd suggest also sending them an email. If they hear from more than one person, they're more likely to act.

during the Packer game... in the last 10 minutes, it has happened 3 times.. each time it lasts about 10 seconds.
I'm watching Fox 6.1 OTA - using a HD20 DVR with D*.
Does anyone understand what is going on with this?

I was getting that too during the game.. must have happened at least 6 times.
my lg 3510 would report no signal for 10 - 15 seconds then it'd come back to nearly 75% signal.
I'm hoping it wasn't on my end. I was just working in my attic yesterday.

Maybe there is a problem with 6-1's signal and my HdHomeRun is more sensitive to it. I'm looking at the signal quality meter and it's fluctuating wildly at times, while the signal strength is at 100%. I'm also watching it on the HR20 and doesn't notice the problem as much.

same thing here, happened about 5 or 6 times today. I am glad I don't watch anything else on CH 6 except Packers. I was watching 6-1 OTA via VIP622 Dishnetwork.

Froze on my Sony twice during the game on 12/16...screen said "no signal". Both times it happened I quickly changed to FOX 32 (Chicago) - no freezing there at all. I've seen this several times on 6-1 several times over the past few days. I'll stick with 32.1 for awhile, or at least until FOX 6 fixes the problem. I watch OTA.

I also was watching 6-1 OTA via VIP622 Dishnetwork. Mine went out 5 or 6 times and now several time during the Cowboy's game. I had switched to my atsc tuner in the TV and still got dropped by Channel 6.
I see Scott had written to channel six. What address do you use? I go to the the Fox 6 Milwaukee site and the closest thing I see to write to is customer service, I had written and complained to Fox6, but no one has ever replied back to me.
Thanks

PatPat,
I went to the Contact Us (http://www.myfoxmilwaukee.com/myfox/pages/InsideFox/ContactUs?pageId=5.11) page on their website, chose "Other" for the Topic, and explained the problem. I was contacted by them the next day via email.
I'd urge everyone that notices this to take a couple of minutes and contact them. Calling may be another option.
If they only hear from a few people, chances are it won't get fixed, since so many problems can be due to user's equipment, setup, etc.

I watched the game on D* channel 88 and the broadcast was perfect. It's definitely on Fox6's end and not the national broadcast.

I also had the issues during both games today, and took the advise of writing to them...hopefully we will hear an answer, and a possible future solution.

It was a Ch. 6 Milwaukee problem with picture freeze. I switched to Ch. 11 Green Bay with no problems.

We were having major issues with their signal at the Majestic today... I had to switch to the U-verse feed for the whole game. Perhaps if I give them a call as being "with Marcus Majestic Cinema" and how our crowd of around 200 was a bit upset with their station (as we explained to them the source of the issues), that might get something done.

I had the same problems. OTA with Samsung SIR-T151
Same problem for me in Wauwatosa. I watch OTA with a Sony KD34XBR960 TV. Signal strength showed 98% before, during, and after breakups. No problems on other channels.

Received this from FOX 6 today...
I apologize for the inconvinence you are experiencing
We are investigating the problem. As this problem is intermittent, it makes troubleshooting the cause or source of the problem difficult and is very time consuming as a result.
We will also be replacing some equipment in the DTV system with newer digital equipment.
Once we feel the problem has been resolved, I will advise you and ask if you can inform me of any ongoing issues.
Thank You for reporting the problem,
Hopefully they will find it soon!

I think it is (somewhat) safe to assume they will work to address the problem. At least you got a response - Thanks FOX6. I would give them the benefit of the doubt on this one. That's more then other people would do.
The problems must be at the local level, since it happens during the morning news cast frequently and does not happen when you watch the Packer game on the Sunday Ticket FOX DTV channel.

I think it is pretty obvious that the Ch. 6-1 transmitter was tripping on some sort of overload. Remember, with digital receivers, this can cause a freeze of the last video.
I think the engineers did a great job of staying on top of the problem, and did their best to get the transmitter back on the air each time.
It was unfortunate that the outages were during the Packers game, but I only missed one play overall.

Any issues with the game OTA today? I'd love to be able to switch back to an OTA source for the games at the Majestic.
I'd also be interested if anyone still has issues throughout this next week's programming. It would be very helpful. :)
