Question about weather warnings today

Has Channel 12 been changing back to SD when running weather warnings today? The reason I ask is that I've been wathcing the games on ABC 7 from Chicago today and they leave the full HD screen and run the warnings across the top of the screen, over the score bar.

Yeah I flipped on football and saw it was in SD.

Other than 18/24, I don't think anyone has invested in a character generator that can do HD overlays... they all have to drop to SD to do the weather alerts.

18/24 had updated character generators... the only problem is that their alerts were stuck at "blind as a bat" font height. Thankfully they only use them for weather alerts that actually jeopardize public health/safety.

Ch 7 did drop to sd a few times, but they had a live drop in with their wether guy and kept open 2 windows so you could still see the game while they reviewed the storm.
