I had a Magnavox HDTV and received all of the OTA signals. I exchanged it for a Sharp because I thought it would be an upgrade but the only OTA HD I receive is NBC. Does anyone have any advice for me?

i should add that the tvs are virtually identical in terms of specifications and internal tuners.

What kind of antenna are you using...I would assume since you get one channel that you have it plugged into the OTA F-connector on the back. I know that on my Samsung panel, there are two F-connectors, one for OTA, and one for QAM and NTSC broadcasts.

I only have one f-connnector. It's weird because i set up my maganavox the same way and got more channels.

I couldn't really find much info on that TV other than specs.. but I assume the setup is the same for most Sharps. What kind of signal strength do you get on WTMJ? I just got a Sharp last week and it picked up all of the OTA stations. Before I did the scan, I went to a channel manually and it seemed to put that channel into memory. You can try that using the channel numbers in parenthesis on the main page (http://www.milwaukeehdtv.org)... ex: For WISN, press 34.1 on the remote. If you get the signal, it should automatically map the channel to 12.1 and keep it in memory. Other than that, you can try moving the antenna around.. some tuners are just better at picking up channels than others. The tuner in my Sanyo CRT picked up digital stations better than the one in my Sony.
