I find it somewhat odd they we as hdtv owners keep complaining just to the stations about the lack of programming or that they or not broadcasting in hi def (fox). When in reality we should be also complaining to the advertiser, most hdtv owners have an above average household income and the advertisers know this. If we let them know we will not buy their products that they advertise on stations that do not support hi def they will listen, causing them to put pressure on the stations, or risk losing money. Can you imagine how fast the stations would comply if they thought they would lose the add dollars? Can you also imagine the fear of the advertisers? if they thought they would lose the customers who or willing to send thousands of dollars on hi def equipment. Maybe we should let the advertisers fill the heat of our anger also.

I sent a nasty note to American TV's corporate headquarters telling them as long as they are involved in advertising and promoting an HDTV giveaway on WISN I wasn't going to do any business with them Until:::
WISN fesses up and gets on the air with their DTV signal or American pulls out of the promotion. I additionally stated that as the resident guru to my friends on Electronics that I will not be referring any of them to shop at American.

Now let's see if they respond to my e-mail.

Is the promotion sponsored by WISN, or is it an American promotion and they're just running spots for it on WISN... (I wouldn't know... the only local shows I watch are on the digital channels, so as far as I'm concerned WISN doesn't even exist).

It's a WISN promotion in conjunction with American as they are supplying the equipment. So I'm sure it's a discount on the advertising.
