Is there an overscan setting on your tv? Or perhaps something that lets you re-center the image?

This is normally very hard to diagnose with no information about your equipment, but since you've mentioned that you're using HDMI and that it's only on a few channels, I'm pretty sure it's just the source, and you need to adjust the overscan on your set.

Mark,
Sorry. No, I don't think so. I've got an Olevia LT 30 HV. It is only on the local SD channels...

Thanks!

Ok, more equipment information please! What's the source of your SD local channels? Cable? Satellite? Antenna?

When you see the static, on your remote hit the VIDEO SOURCE button in the lower left corner, until it gets put into ZOOM mode (not stretch). Is the static still there? Also, see if your 8300 is set to output in only 1080i, or all modes. (Hit the settings button, then press A to get to more settings.) If it's only 1080i, enable all modes (put dots next to all of them), and see if that takes it away. If it's set for all modes, set it to only 1080i, and try that.

and I have the Synergy V remote.

Video Source button brings up my TV's Source List.

When I press the Enter/# button and switch the static appears on the top couple rows when the TV Type is: 16:9 and Setting is: Normal or Stretch. The static does not appear in the Zoom setting.

As far as Output formats on General Settings, it will only let me have 1080i. I select all of the formats (480i, 480p, and 720p) and then exit out, and it always reverts back to only 1080i. It is as if it will not let me save a different Output format setting.

Since it doesn't appear in zoom, it's just an issue of your TV not having enough overscan. Double-check if there's any way to get your tv to slightly zoom the image. It's strange that it always reverts back to 1080i... I'd say try to get a new box, but that might be difficult with the shortage. (I have however heard that they're replacing boxes for customers who already have them, so it's worth a shot.)

it still is wierd that it is just channels 4,5,6,504(when in SD), 505(when in SD), 506 (when in SD), 550, 551,552,and 553.

None of the rest of the channels.

I see that now and had it in Madison with Charter. Must be the equipment they use. (I assume its similar).
