:bang: I am getting a real education about digital TV. Having stood radio guard in the USCG and heard Coast Guard Kodiak Radio each night from the Hawaii in the early 70's RF for Avionics and Sea Going Vessels I understand. What’s happening with the signals between my hilltop home hear Brookfield Square and the Transmitters is new. Strange like moisture in radar waveguides on 82ft Coast Guard Cutters that took a beating in Nam by friendly fire.
I had my Electrical Service upgraded this summer. I borrowed a digital Signal strength meter and rewired my home with quad shield RG6 T&B Snap-N-Seals and well did it all by the book in preparation for a new flat panel HDTV.
So why
1. Audio Drop outs on three stations now 36.1 4.1 and 12.1. on my new 46 inch Sharp.
2. CBS 58.1 HD volume is so much louder but no dropouts (digital like when it goes to local programming about the same).
3. Could my new CM 3018 be too much antenna for signals 11.6 miles away and picking up multipath that bingo cancel only a portion of the broadcast (audio) and spoil the experience? The Pixelation is fine.
Should I buy just a simple Weinguard Ghost buster vhf a CM 4221 uhf add signals with a splitter/combiner and feed the lot down the line?
Could I have a flakey tuner computer/ram problem I should be stressing with a signal generator by a repair professional with the gear to hammer away at a different problem with?
There is always TWC but… OTA is free and I love PBS 10/36. I do not like the TWC story here in Milwaukee and trees to the south are a real problem not that I don’t have a problem to the north east to the transmitter (they’re all about in the same spot from my location only the freeway and very tree tops are a problem).
Any Ideas?
