Does time warner supply component video cables with the Scientific Atlanta 3100HD install?

If they do, how is the quality of these video cables.

Yes, they supply cables for the component video. Obviously, they will not be of the highest quality. To be honest, I haven't even looked at mine. I'll do so tonight, and then I'll probably want to replace them. Thanks a lot. http://www.milwaukeehdtv.org/ubb/wink.gif

As for the coaxial audio cable, I don't even know if they provide this -- I had my own ready and waiting.

No digital audio cable is supplied. And, I seem to remember that it is optical and not electrical.

The digital audio out on the cable box is most certainly coaxial.

When I had mine, the component outs looked like cheap speaker cable.

I didn't get component cables or a digital coax cable. Most definitely a digital coax for audio. ;)

I've got more component cables than I know what to do with. I've also got two remotes that TW insist on charging me for each month, even thougth I do not need them as I have it all programmed into a Pronto type remote.

I actually don't thing the component cables that comes with the 3100HD are actually all that bad. The step up from standard definition to high definition is such that any slight loss in the cables in not noticed.

Why can't you just return the remotes? Will they charge you anyways for them?

I tried. They stated that as I have two digiboxes I must have two remotes. They will not let me have the box with out the remote.

Oh well, after the superbowl, we'll probably be cancelling cable anyway. Too business right now to watch it, so why spend the money?

Aw man, that's crap. They charge you seperately for them, you shouldn't have to pay for what you don't use. I'm getting digital cable installed Friday. I'll see if I get a different story on the remote. As soon as it's programmed in to my universal, I don't have any need for it.

When the installer was at my house, he started programming the code for my television into the TWC remote. When I told him this wasn't necessary, he looked confused. I told him I could just program my universal remote with the codes, to which he replied, "I don't think that's possible." Sheesh.

I just got a Pronto, and I love it. Much better than the RCA touchscreen piece of junk it replaced.
