Last night the 18-1 signal came in as 480i. I thought that was strange. Usually the non-HD content is sent out at 1080i. Maybe something happened to the equipment? I bet Jimboy knows what is going on.

Setup configs for the HD switcher were lost so we switch to SD (480i).
Fixed it this morning and 1080i will be back on at 10am.

I'm guessing so...I don't know how to tell between the two...other than I saw two grey bars on the sides compared to the normal black, 1080i/720p bars (in 4:3 broadcasts).
I've noticed 24-1 always was like that, do they broadcast 420?

24-1 is always 480i. We don't send out the grey bars....that's a function of your receiver.
18-1 is normally 1080i (without grey bars) but can be 480i if we have issues with HD. It's better to have something on the air instead of nothing.

I agree.
BTW, Do you know what happened to 24-1 last night? between 8 and 9pm. There was a crawl, but I couldn't make it out what it said with all the drops and pixelations. Signal strength to my receiver was good as usual.

What program were you watching at the time? No problems were reported here. Sometimes receivers will have a problem with channel 25 (24-1) due to higher power analog 24.
I think the crawl you refer to is related to the ongoing dispute between Sinclair and Dish Network.

It was during Veronica Mars. It got better near the end, but the program and commercials were all choppy. I get about 85-90% signal on 24-1 and it was about 86% last night.
