WISN DT is supposed to be up and running as of tomorrow, or midnight tonight for the legalistic among us. But so far no receivable picture, test pattern, or anything other than a carrier detected on lummox's scope. Bad news? Equipment DOA? or true plug and play.

No real signal today...saw some spikes on the spectrum analyzer this AM but nothing conclusive. At least on Friday I saw a full 6 meg digital signal and had a good signal strength here at home on the HiDTV card...but nothing today...of course without them on I can watch Faux6's 480i digital signal...when they come on the air being the next channel...good bye Faux 6.

WISN-DT is running on Digital 34-1. No re-mapping to Ch 12 yet. Punched it up at 10:44am.

It's the WISN regular programming. Strong signal. Locking in at 100 on Hughes E86.

Port Charles soap. Much better PQ compared to DirecTV 12 and OTA 12. So that's it. It's a wrap. No more testing. Just go with it. I'll keep my finger crossed. Faux's itty bitty signal has been vaporized.
What's the first HD content for ABC? Will have to check out Push, Nevada @ 8pm

Now they're all over the place. Lot's of different HD content at approx 30 second intervals. Test patterns. 720p test signal. Audio test for left, center, right, left surround, right surround. Lookin' good.

Probably will continue today and tomorrow before turning the digital signal off over the weekend. What you all are seeing is an ABC test loop.

Signal Strength of 90, great picture....doing audio tests right now checking audio channels with dB reductions ect....sorta neat.

Yep. It's a 7 minute test loop. Disney 101 Dalmation trailer looks great. Interesting 5 second Pep Boy IRL promo for Indy May 24, 1998. 15 second soap opera with some woman as a belly dancer. Great picture. You can see all three freckles on her stomach. lol
Video and Audio gone. Signal still at 100. Receiver still switches to Dobly Digital.
Back to regular programming.

Finally, this boycott can end. Give me Alias in HD! I get DD on the receiver, but haven't seen the HD loop yet.
The one gripe is still the obnoxious logo from the analog days. It is not only annoying, non-transparent, and in darn near the middle of the screen, but it's actually vibrating on the screen in the upconverted broadcast!!
Please dump this thing for
1)nothing
or
2)placed in lower right hand corner (not the middle of the screen) and make it transparent once and for all. Once you've done the 5 seconds, what is the point of keeping it on there? Every other station has a normal fade out on local bugs after 10 seconds or so. These things are going to ruin our TVs.

Signal Strength a solid 80 here with no fluctuations. Still getting "Dolby Digital" on the feed and awaiting HD signal.

Cool! Finally have a 5.1 station! Had to adjust my audio settings, not that I'm complaining! Great to have another choice. Watching Nightline right now.

Who cares? They made my decision for me on Sunday. I watched the Sopranos on HBO HD instead of watching their station again. Until I can watch Alias and the Practice on Sunday, my boycott remains in place. I can get the WS versions on usenet for the time being.
It's pretty pathetic to hear them scream that ABC has no programming every conference call, yet the few shows they have worth watching they dump or don't support, like "Once and Again" and "Sports Night." WISN finally switched over partway into the start of Push Nevada, but why should I watch it? The show has already been cancelled. Sunday nights are ABC's main programming nights and apparently this ABC station cares very little about ratings. They even had Lethal Weapon 3 on Saturday, but of course we got nothing.

I am so glad I can pull in 52 out of Chicago, because one more Monday Night without a local Digital broadcast!
Where are they tonight! The weekend is over, and they have all of us wanting FOOTBALL!

Picture looks nice though, but just pop over to HDNET and compare it to the Rice vs. Navy game.
That is how we should be able to see it every Sunday!
