I just got off the phone with TWC and am I happy!!! :) I have noticed that we are not watching the premium channels we have (HBO/SHOWTIME) so I decided to downgrade my package from Digipic 2000 to Digital Access, a savings of $25.00 per month. The CSR said " Well why don't I just sign you up for a one year deal where you will get Digipic 2000 for the price of Digital Access?? That way you can keep the same package you have and save money!!" I said "Are you kidding me?" He said "No its a special promotion we are running." I said "Great sign me up!"
I knew that as soon as I would cancel HBO/Showtime there would be a ton of stuff coming on that I would want to watch and I would regret switching packages. Guess I won't worry about that for another year.

I called... said I was considering cancelling DigiPic2000... they wouldn't give me crap. Consider yourself very lucky.

I think it depends on the rep you get...
Also you should ask for it outright... Start off with you want to know what your new fee would be once you start cancelling packages because it's simply costing you too much.

I got DigiPic2000 for 3 months free for complaining that TWC never has free previews or deals for current customers.. and lack of new good HD content.... previously we had 1000. My parents haven't had movie channels since way back when TWC was Metrovision around here.. and for like the past 5 or so years all we've had was the Showtime free preview this March.

Cable/Satellite companies don't offer free previews, services do. I think there is an HBO preview coming up.

I think a lot of it has to do with the level of person you speak with. I did the same thing and the front line person could not do anything for me. I asked for a manager, they put in touch with another department and finally, that person gave me the discount. I got $40 off per month for the next 12 months if I kept all my services.

I know.. but TWC generally hasn't participated in any of them. A couple years back I believe there was going to be a Starz free preview and it was advertised all over the place. The weekend came, and there was nothing. I called up TWC and they said they weren't participating in it. I think it was even on our bill, as well as the TV Guide channel saying that they were going to have the preview.. never happened though.
just a reminder, if my June TWC bill was correct the HBO free preview starts tomorrow (9/3-9/7). Includes HBO HD
I watched the series premier of Rome last week on HD HBO. It looks and sounds awesome and the show is pretty good. Not to mention all of the violence and full-frontal nudity. Worth watching Sunday at 8:00.
