That's a shame. I have fond memories growing up and the Sunday that the Indy 500 was on was a day that dad and I listened to the race while waxing the family car. Back at that time, the broadcast was delayed until later in the day.

But I have to admit, I haven't watched in a few years. All this league/series squabbling with IRL is rediculous. However, this year there is some excitement back with Danica Patrick qualifying so well. Did I hear correct that she is a Beloit native??

For the additional cost to do this event in HD, this is probably the BEST time to draw in new viewers, or reclaim those like me that simply have lost interest due to the politics of the sanctioning bodies.

I'd bet that the NASCAR 600 will be in HD, no reason that Indy shouldn't.

Agreed.

I grew up in INDY and have seen many many races live. In fact, this is the first year I have not gone down in a long time. I was really lookig forward to seeing it in HD. I have never seen the race on TV. It is blacked out in INDY, so you either go to the race or listen to it on the radio.

I agree, I remember last year complaining about the Indy 500 not in HD, but come on ABC! If it was Fox it would have been in HD.
