What would you rather see starting April 8th?
Living with Fran - http://www.thewb.com/Shows/Show/0,7353,219086,00.html
Or Star Trek Enterprise?
I know the ideal answer would be both but it ain't gonna happen yet.

I believe this is the final schedule for Enterprise and then it is going off the air for good. Are they really telling us that we will not get to see the final episodes of Enterprise? Is this a network or local decision?
15-Apr-2005 Bound
22-Apr-2005 In a Mirror, Darkly (1)
29-Apr-2005 In a Mirror, Darkly (2)
06-May-2005 Demons (1)
13-May-2005 Terra Prime (2)
13-May-2005 These Are the Voyages ...
I don't think that's what he is saying.. Enterprise is currently sharing the WB bandwidth for HD so the question is do you want to see enterprise in HD on WB channel or live the bandwidth available to the new show also in HD as it looks.
I vote enterprise given the show has only a few shows left it would be nice to see them as intended rather then a mid-season replacement that may or may not be anything worth while anyway.

Basically the point is that the folks at WCGV-24/WVTV-18 have only one piece of equipment to deliver HD. They have been very nice to give up airing any WB programming in HD at Friday nights between 7-8 pm to air UPN's ST in HD instead.
Supposedly the HD equipment for WCGV has been on back order or something, but either way just not available so they will interrupt WVTV's HD programming and use the HD equipment to air a most popular show from UPN.
Actually I can't wait till the time comes when stations will be able to afford to air off-network programs in HD. Meaning they would need to have some sort of Video recorder/player that records and playback in HD as well as air any syndicated programs produced in HD and offer it locally in HD.
Thou that will probably be for quite a while. There isn't enough programs in HD to go around yet.

Frankly, Fran is bad enough in analogue or SD, why not wait until the final Enterprise shows finish off and then dump her into HD mode?

I don't watch nor haven't watch any of the new Star Trek shows. But I don't have no idea who Fran is either. Is Fran something really new? I suggest sticking with Star Trek. I put my vote down for Star Trek. Too me to watch a Science Fiction, it is far better to watch a science fiction film in wide screen as oppose to SD.
Anyways who is Fran? I think she can wait. Though if she is really nice looking and if the texture of her skin is important, then I can see doing that in HD. Because most female TV actors have been complaining that viewers with HDTV sets who watch them can see thier wrinkles, etc.

If I was not a Star Trek fan, I would still have to say Star Trek... Let's face it, most of the people that have HDTV setup (with all the necessary equipment) are going to be more of the techy or sports fans fans (let's say it, men)...
I have a feeling that Fran is slanted more towards females...
I just think that most of the people that watch HD and are setup to do so would be watching Star Trek rather than Fran (if it were possible to show both shows at the same time in HD)

Fran is Fran Dressher (sp?) of the TV show Nanny fame...she with the annoying nasal laugh and over the top New York accent :OnAir:

When I first got an HD set about a year ago I was surprised by how many sitcoms are HD for just that reason. As a techy-chick I love both sci-fi and romance stuff, but there really aren't any current sitcoms that appeal to me. My vote went to Enterprise.

And by the way -- sincere thanks to the folks at 18/24 for going the extra mile to broadcast Enterprise in HD.

A change in scheduling by the WB.
Living With Fran will be on at 8:30pm (in HD 18-2) on Friday April 15th.
This should make that 1 person happy. :D

She played the record promoter in "This is Spinal Tap", she played a hooker in "Dr. Detroit" and she had a sitcom on TV "The Nanny" for several years.
Never liked her as an actress, but I have bad taste :p

While I watched her show last week just for kicks, the reviews aren't very good based on what I have read and I don't know if the concept/storyline of the show are up to a long run, even if you can stand her nasal "New Yawk" accent.
"The Nanny" was fun in its time, she should have stuck with that or similar.
I don't see it lasting as long as "Reba" which I do enjoy, but then, its all an acquired taste.

Hi Jimboy
Hey I have a request. Is there any possible way to have Enterprise in HD on either 24-1 or 18-1 instead of 24-2 and 18-2. The reason is that I would like to record the last couple of episodes and my stupid Hauppauge card is not able to record while being able to tune the multicasts of any particular channel. I can only record from the primary channels and not on any multicast of a particular channel. It's a software problem of Hauppauge's that they are aparently never going to fix.
Thanx

Without the upconversion equipment for 24-1 it's not going to happen.
Sorry.
