TWC + Hughes E-8

Does anybody have any experience hooking up a Hughes/D* HIRD E-8 to TWC cable.. A freind of mine wants to use the E-8 as a OTA STB ( which is what I use - so Iknow this works.) He is wondering if any of the three choices for turning the SAt in put into a Local Cable input are at all compatable with TWC's analog service? I understand that this won't work for their Digi or HD service 'cause none of 'em is QAM-64 - which is what I assume TWC is using for their digital feeds?

I am assuming you mean the E86.

The E86 is compatible with TWC's analog service. Yes. It is NOT compatible with their digital service though, and thus not compatible with their QAM HD channels (aka all HD channels).

So yeah, if he wants to get analog cable then there shouldn't be a problem (though not sure about scrambled analog).
