I have a Apple 23" Widescreen LCD (M9178LL/A) that I was using as an HDTV monitor. It worked great in the small room it was in, but it has developed colored lines vertically and horizontally. It is out of warranty and I would like to get it repaired.
Are there any local shops that would work on it?

A 23 inch LCD, sounds like it would still be a pretty expensive monitor to replace. It might be worth having it looked at. There was a place in New Berlin that I took a 21 inch monitor to to have it looked at. They gave free estimates. It's been 5 years since I've been there. Can't remember the name, I wish I could. I would have to look them up the same as I would recommend to you. In my case the monitor would have cost $400 to fix and the price of a new one was down to $525. Even though I paid $1700 for it new. They disposed of it for free

Thanks. I'll search around for them. This monitor does 1920X1080 native, so it would still be around a grand or so to replace.

Dell just came out with a 24" wide-screen (12ms response time) about $1200. With discount and instant rebate, it should be close to $900.
The specs are pretty good. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/ProductDetail.aspx?TabPage=techspecs&sku=320-4221&c=us&l=en&cs=19
