I had on Showtime HD on (Lara Croft, Tomb Ra..)well you know. Anyhow, the film was letterboxed on the screen, and I noticed the picture was thinner in the center, and wider on the edges. There was about 1/2" drop in the picture, fron the edge to the center. Both top and bottom.
Can this be corrected? Or, is that the way it's broadcast.
I have a Mits. WS-65819
Would welcome any advise...
Thanks, Doug

I didn't watch the broadcast tonight but I did watch it last weekend on Sho and didn't have a problem with the picture. I also have the DVD and the ShowHD picture was superior.

I'm not familiar with your unit so I really couldn't answer. You might go through your menus and see if there is an auto-alignment program....or maybe it was a fluke of the broadcast. If you are receiving you ShoHD via Directv I would suggest you check out HDNET and see how the baseball game looks. If your on Warner check out the HD demo channel.

HDNet looks great as always, the sho movie was in that 2:35 or whatever anamorphic (like DVD's) I noticed it because of the bars top and bottom.
You probably need an advanced convergence done to correct the geometry. It's not hard to do, but is time-consuming. The set maintains a different set of parameters for each different signal type, so it could be fine with DVD's and still be off with HDTV.
