Can anyone recommend an ISF certified technician that calibrates Toshibas?

I have a 42H81 (42-inch widescreen rear projection HDTV) and am overall pleased with the picture. However, since I now have a HD STB, I'm thinking about having it calibrated
to get the most out of the TV.

In addition, I live in Appleton.

Thanks for any help,

Jim

Wow, I would have thought someone would have made some suggestions by now. If you have not been out to www.hometheaterspot.com (http://www.hometheaterspot.com) I would suggest looking there in the Toshiba forum. The trick will be finding a guy in the mid-west that has a great track record and reputation. We do have a local shop here (Flanners Audio and Video) that has 2 ISF certified techs, however I don't know of anyone here that has had them calibrate their sets. Also, I don't believe that they are a Toshiba dealer, so experience with your set may be an issue.

Have you contacted Sus Electronics? Again, I think they are more of a Mitsibushi dealer, but they are in Appleton.

Good luck!

Okay, based on a thread at www.hometheaterspot.com (http://www.hometheaterspot.com) (under the "Toshiba" forum), the world famous Eliab maybe interested in doing a Wisconsin tour.

Anyone else interested in his services?
(At this time, I don't have a timeframe when
he would be available.)

Yes, I am I would be glad to ISF calibrate your Toshiba I am going to make a trip up that way around the first Two weeks in July. In fact I have calibrated a 56H80 in the Appleton area. Let me know if time frame is ok. Make sure you turn your contrast down to around 45% in the mean time. Thanks for your interest Steve

I am interest in ISF calibration of my projector and 60" Mits. I have a DWIN HD500 projector. Does someone in the forum know of a certification tech. that services this area. I live in Muskego.
Thanks,

Don, I had the guys from Flanners come out to do my 65" 16:9 Mits. They spent the whole day and did a great job. Even my wife noticed the differrence. The Mits sets have a lot of "red push" and they need to do something with the scan velocity modulation to get the picture right. I think it was money well spent.

What model Mitsubishi set do you have? Is it a 2002 Platinum or Platinum Plus? I have a 55819 and would like it calibrated, but I know for that series you have to defeat red push with a computer cable and a laptop. When I talked to the main service guy at Flanner's he had no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned the I2C fix to him. If they have since learned about it I would certainly consider giving them a call.

My Mits is a Diamond Series VS-60801. I use it primarily for 4:3 TV/DVD viewing. I do all of my widescreen DVD/HDTV on my Dwin projector with 100" screen. Looks much better. I am sure they would both look better with expert ISF calibration. Any ideas on who can do both units? Please help.

Mine is a platinum plus WS65857. Don, I bet they could do your projector too. Talk to Dan at Flanners.
