If Sean at TMJ sees this, what was the deal with the Amber Alert IN THE MIDDLE of a crash. That was not professional at all. I hope that it doesn't happen again.

It sure sounds like the folks in the control room were not following the race at all. I'll try to find out more on Monday.

Most Amber Alerts are automated. The TV stations have no control over the alerts being broadcast.

It sounds like we will change our Amber Alert procedures from a full screen message to a crawl.
That way fans could still see the race... even though they would have to listen to the Amber Alert audio.
If any one is interested in the Amber Alert rules for broadcaster and cable, here’s a link:

I thought that it was automated, but I wasn't sure. I am not complaining because without it kids would not be found.
