Fights! Laughs! Bikinis! Television Pilot Launches on Cuban’s HDNet
Mark Cuban’s All High Def Cable Network, HDNet, Will Air Irreverent Sports Comedy, ‘Rumbles,’ on June 19th
DALLAS, June 11 /PRNewswire/ — “Rumbles,” the name of the television pilot running on cable network HDNet, Saturday, June 19th at 9:30 PM EDT, is, in the words of its producer, Matt Williams, “stupid male humor.” Depending on your level of intelligence, you’ll agree. In the pilot episode, pro athletes, sports experts, media types and five comedians from the world famous Comedy Store in L.A., run hilarious, yet ruthless, commentaries on pro sports fights from around the world.
— Why should no batter ever charge Nolan Ryan while on the mound? — Was the infamous Tyson/Lewis press conference brawl staged? — What is behind the actions of deranged European soccer hooligans?
These are some of the questions that are answered. Of course, there’s a twist.
The show’s host, BG James, a TNA wrestling star on Impact! (Fox Sports Net), makes the offer to televise a rematch between any of the original fight participants should they want one. And the bikinis? Rumbles showcases Internet hottie and fitness guru Christina Lindley, featured in the film “Dumb And Dumberer,” to break up the show’s segments as a “ring girl” ala live boxing matches.
It’s 30 solid minutes of fights, laughs and bikinis. Groundbreaking? Hardly. Funny? Definitely, dude.
