TMJ on TWC

Why is there an "E" in the upper left corner of channel 504 on TWC?

It doesn't appear on channel 4.

NBC emailed all stations at 9:04 pm to say the E on the screen was a mistake on the HD feed. They were trying to get rid of it. About 2 minutes later it disappeared.
There was no problem on the SD feed.
