Slated to hit the market in early January, the CU-VH1 from JVC (TSE: 6792) is a video player capable of playing 750/30p high-definition video.
It also supports 525/60p progressive-wide, 525/60i standard DV as well as DVC and 525/60i MiniDV formats. The player incorporates up and down converter capability to support all kinds of TV inputs.
The open-priced, portable unit measures 211 x 52 x 154mm, weighs 1,145g (including battery and tape), and features a 3.5-inch LCD screen. The company will ship 1,000 units per month.
