Burbank, Calif. - The WB television network will roughly double the number of HDTV programming hours in the fall 2003 season to at least 9.5 hours per week, according to senior VP Hal Protter.

The programs will continue to be delivered in 1080i and non-surround stereo, the distribution development executive said.

In the 2002 season, the network offered five hours of HD programming, which was scaled back to 4.5 hours when the Family Affair series was axed.

In the 2003 season, a minimum of 9.5 hours will be offered in HD, and that could expand pending other decisions.

The following programs will be in 1080i in the fall:

9-10 p.m., Everwood (1 hour)
