Does anyone carry this product in the Milwaukee area? Any thoughts on this STB? Are there any other STBs with a firewire port? Thanks for your inputs.

Don't know of anyone local...but ABT down in Illinois carries it. The prices are all over the board on that unit...I've found the run from $540 to $699.....ABT has it at $599.00

Thanks for the information. Does anyone know whether or not you could use the firewire port to record to a PC hard drive? Thanks again.

We've tried using the firewire ports to run a video and audio into a Mitsubishi HD-2000U without any luck. It appears the ports are not activated, although, it's probably user error.

I will look into what EXACTLY are the capabilities of the unit either this weekend or early next week for you. I will contact a guy I know at Samsung about the interoperability of the unit with a PC and just what exactly they planned for those ports.

I will hook it up to a Mitsubishi WS-55711 as well as retry the VCR capability. If for nothing else, just to see what happens. I will posts the results here.

God I love my job.....

John,

The ports on the 165 work with the Mits DVHS. The manual and 165 are not that user friendly so it takes a carefull ready of the manual to figure it out. Once set up it is actually pretty easy to use and works perfect.
