I received an email from WISN back in January and thought it would be fun to followupo. Here is the original and my reply sent today.

I am responding to this email that I received from you back in January. At that time you mentioned that it was your intent to start carrying ABC's HDTV programming by May 2002. Since then I have purchased an HDTV receiver and have been enjoying programming from WMVS, WTMJ, and WDJT, but at the same time have been wondering where WISN's signal was? The quality of DTV, not just HDTV, is so superior that I have found myself watching more of the DTV channels and less of the analog local channels. I would appreciate any information as to when you think WISN may be providing a DTV signal obtainable by the metro Milwaukee area. It is a shame that ABC is providing all of their HDTV programming while those of us in Milwaukee are unable to watch any of it. Thank you.

Here's the response you will get:

It weighs a ton. We don't want to lift it into place twice. We are working with the city but they keep voting 6-0 in rejecting us. Blah, blah, blah.

If you call Hearst-Argyle corp in NY, they play dumb: "I'm sure they working hard there. They are not in violation of the FCC mandate. I don't remember our stating in 4th Quarter results to the stockholders that we will incur losses in meeting the HDTV mandate." - Thomas Campo, H-A

"I have a relatively substantial investment in HDTV equipment and can receive the ABC affilliate from Madison, WI here in the Waukesha area.

When will you begin brodcasting digital on ch. 34? I'm tired of the excuses and the delays.

Should this go to Kent Wainscott or Action 12 maybe??
